Registration is open NOW for all skating programs at the Kevin Bell Arena.
We have programs for all -- from toddlers to adults, youth hockey teams, learn to skate, men's/women's, figure skating, curling and broomball.

The 43rd Annual Rotary Health Fair, hosted by the Homer Kachemak Bay Rotary Club in cooperation with South Peninsula Hospital, will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Christian Community Church, 3838 Bartlett Street, Homer. Admission is free and open to the public.

With its ongoing theme, “It’s Your Life… Take a Day to Be Well,” the fair continues its mission to promote community wellness and preventive care. More than 40 exhibitors will offer free screenings, interactive demos, and valuable information on a wide range of health topics.

Highlights include free flu shots, blood pressure screenings, and opportunities to explore cutting-edge technology such as AI-assisted heart and brain imaging. Visitors can try out physical therapy equipment, meet local healthcare professionals, learn about assistive technology tools for hearing, and explore smoking cessation resources. Children under ten can participate in the Great Candy Exchange to trade Halloween candy for fun prizes. In addition to screenings and demos, attendees can access information on mental health, reproductive and women’s health, nutrition, healthy aging, and more.

Individuals who participated in the hospital’s advance blood draws can pick up their lab results at the fair with photo identification, and staff will be available to assist with enrollment in the hospital’s new patient portal, MyChart. While there, they can sit for a free review of their results with a local healthcare provider. Deeply discounted blood draws are available through Wednesday, November 5; appointments required at rotaryhealthfair.org.

The Rotary Health Fair provides a welcoming, informative environment for all ages, offering tools and knowledge to help community members live well. The event is free and open to the public, with food and coffee vendors available on site for purchase. All visitors to the fair can enter to win door prizes of great value, ranging from gift certificates to local vendors to valuable health products.

At this booth at the (free) Rotary Health Fair, kids 10 years of age and up can weigh and trade in their trick-or-treat candy for great prizes! The candy collected will be used in holiday care packages

This is an open playgroup for parents/guardians to bring their young ones* to a great big open space and let them run around and play. Bring your own toys or play with what SPARC has provided (no pedal bikes w/ brakes allowed at this time, only strider bikes & scooters). This class is available Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays from 10-11:30am (unless a special event interferes). Cost is $4.00 per child.
* This means toddlers not in kindergarten, or not of school-age yet (~5 yrs. old & younger) -- older siblings are allowed but need to be careful of the littles!

***Please bring a pair of clean indoor shoes for you & your child to change into (in the entryway). Thank you for helping to keep our new floor looking good!***

Join us for Bunnell Street Arts Center’s annual 10 x 10 Members Exhibit that features work by new and renewing Bunnell members. The exhibit opens on Friday, November 7th from 5 – 7pm with artist talks at 6pm, and closes on November 29th.

Work by current members of Bunnell in any media that measure 10” in any direction are accepted. Anyone who makes an annual donation in support of the mission and programs of Bunnell Street Arts Center is recognized as a Bunnell member.

This year, Bunnell has welcomed over 40 new artist donors so far! The 10 x 10 Members Exhibit provides artists with an opportunity to exhibit in Bunnell’s gallery space and explore new artistic directions, as well as providing an opportunity for collectors to gift or acquire small artworks during the holiday season. Bunnell’s 10 x 10 Exhibit typically showcases 60+ artists and over 100 individual works.

ARTIFACT QUEST AT THE PRATT

The Skeleton Scavenger Hunt was such a hit – so we’re rolling out a new adventure for November! Come participate in another scavenger hunt featuring materials from the Alutiiq and Dena’ina collection.

SECOND SATURDAY

The Second Saturdays program is an opportunity for families to explore the Museum for FREE!

As always, there will be an “Object at Hand” demonstration, showcasing a special item from the permanent collection with our education staff. The Museum will be open from 11am – 4pm. Object at Hand demonstration will be from 12-2pm.

Free admission for all.

During this lapse in appropriations, national wildlife refuges will remain as accessible as possible. We are doing our best to take care of your refuges at this time, but some amenities and services may not be available. The visitor center will remain closed until the government reopens - all scheduled events will not occur during the lapse in appropriations. Thank you for supporting your local national wildlife refuge.

Put your wildlife felting skills to the test! Come craft fun creatures with help from Lora Haller. The class is recommended to ages 12 and up with some experience. Registration is required - you may visit the Visitor Center or contact Lora Haller at lora_haller@fws.gov or 907-290-5245 to sign up.

Fun With 5x6x7, a community show of small works at the Homer Council on the Arts Gallery on 10/7 from 5-7pm! This open call group show features over 100 artworks from artists across Alaska showcasing a variety of mediums and styles, just in time for holiday gift giving.
